First Act: We are born, then baptisms and birthdays arrive - followed by graduations, weddings and again baptisms. Second Act: the forties arrive – over here! and with it the depressions, crises, illnesses and deaths, together with the extra glass of wine, as a way to face it all!
My pulse accelerates every time I see an incoming call from a family member or friend who doesn't call often... 80% of the time the call isn´t to invite me to a wedding, nor to party three days in a row – I miss that! The call is rather a notification of an illness or catastrophe of the sort. If it's my lucky Friday, the conversation would be about the possibility of the person losing the job, her/his couple having a lover -20 years younger! a depression and so on...
Life gets longer and sorrows start earlier – how terrible! Can’t imagine what would happen to some of us if it all goes on like this and the Dear Lord decides to give us 45 more years of “life”... Regardless of our circumstances, let's try to accept who we are, let's give ourselves encouragement and space to breathe, let's bet on a little bit of faith and optimism. WE WORTH IT!
Meet The Barter Barber (3.37 minutes), maybe his story and attitude will cheer you up, or who knows, it could Change something inside of you- for the better!
This video is for everyone: for those with unquestionable sorrow and justified depression; for those with light or imaginary sorrows (be careful); but as well for that 20% who always calls with a joke or invitation to go see Juan Luis Guerra, again – way to go!
